Course Descriptions:

The Art of Thai Herbal Compressing, 3 Hours

In Thailand, Luk Pra Kob is a method of treatment employed in traditional Thai Medicine that stimulates the Sen Sib energy lines using herbal compresses.  For this workshop, we will make our own compresses using a combination of herbs from Chiang Mai herbalists along with fresh and dried herbs that have been locally procured.  This will be a sensory journey to Southeast Asia - not to be missed!!  Experience the aromatic wonders of Siamese yellow ginger, lemongrass, & turmeric.  We will discuss the healing properties and application of each herb, and you will have a compress to take home with you.  Investment:  $35

Certificate Program, Thai Yoga Massage
These programs are suitable for All Levels.  No Prerequisites required.

Level 1, 50 Hours

Level 1 enables each person to give a 120-minute TYM in the Supine, Prone, Abdominal, & Inverted positions.  Along with learning an organized sequence, we will review the history and roots of Traditional Thai Massage, Thai energy lines, ergonomics for the therapist, and also focus on grounding and centering techniques.  We will also have weekly, documented practice hours that will need to be submitted by each student and then reviewed and graded by the instructor.
Investment:  $900

Level 2, 50 Hours

Prerequisites: Level 1 with Textured Motion

Level 2 introduces the Side-Lying and Seated positions, along with an in-depth study of the Sen Sib lines (the Thai energy lines) and a pragmatic approach to synthesizing client sessions. The Sen Sib have already been introduced and utilized in Level 1, and in Level 2 we will learn how each line runs, where it originates and ends, and how to specifically work one particular line during therapeutic sessions. The student will learn more poses for the Supine and Prone positions, as well as more history, philosophy, and therapeutic techniques. The student will have enough knowledge to offer a three hour session.
We will also have weekly, documented practice hours that will need to be submitted by each student and then reviewed and graded by the instructor. Investment:  $900.  Discount:  Payment in full for both Levels:  $1700  ($100 savings)

RTT Track

Prerequisites:  Level 1 and Level 2 with Textured Motion

If you wish to further your TYM studies and have the THAI-approved designation of RTT, we have a program that will guide you through the necessary hours and requirements.
For the Practitioner level, the minimum requirements are 150 hours of formal documented study of TYM, plus a minimum of 50 documented practice sessions of between 90 minutes and 2 hours in length.
The initial 150 hours of study must be completed within a maximum period of three years, and a minimum of one year must transpire from the date of your first study of TYM.  The following trainings will fulfill the necessary 150 hours of study.

Guided Self-Study, 50 Hours

After completing Levels 1 & 2 the student will know enough techniques to give a  FIVE HOUR SESSION!!.  Ideally, we would all love to take half of our working day and receive a Thai Yoga Massage, but practically speaking, it is difficult to find people with enough time to have such a long session.  This course is geared towards the student who wants to transition to the professional level and who wants to learn how to take this knowledge and break it down into practical pieces.  We will learn how to give 60, 90, and 120 minute sessions in a therapeutic fashion.  For example, when a client comes to a session with lumbar pain and only has 60 minutes for a session, we will learn and practice the quintessential techniques for treating this condition in this time frame.  After this guided, self-study, the student will feel confident to work with many different conditions within various time frames.  In addition, we will learn more about Thai herbs and Thai culture, and there will be required assignments and research regarding Thai medicine.
Investment:  $500.  Discount:  Payment in full for Level 1, 2, & RTT Track: $2100 ($200 savings)
